What this tool does
Image Compressor reduces the file size of PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, BMP, AVIF, and SVG images in your browser. Images are decoded, optionally resized, and re-encoded locally, so files are never uploaded to a server.
How to use
- 1.Drop, browse, or paste up to 50 images.
- 2.Choose Quality mode or Target size mode, and an output format.
- 3.Optionally resize before compressing to a maximum width or height.
- 4.Press Compress, compare before and after with the slider, and check the per-file savings.
- 5.Download single files or everything as a ZIP.
Quality, target size, and formats
Quality mode encodes every image at one quality level. Target size mode searches for the highest quality that fits the size you enter; it is a best effort, not an exact byte count, and each file shows a warning when it stays above the target. Keep original leaves JPEG and WebP in their format and keeps PNG lossless, where quality has little effect, so switch to WebP or JPEG for large savings. GIF, BMP, and SVG are saved as PNG with Keep original.
Limits and notes
Resizing before compression keeps the aspect ratio and never upscales. When a compressed file ends up larger than the original, the tool can download the original instead. JPEG has no transparency, so transparent areas become white. Animated GIFs keep only the first frame, and metadata such as EXIF is removed by re-encoding. Files are limited to 50 MB each.
