What is secure PDF redaction?
PDF PII & Secret Redactor finds developer credentials and optional personal data in local PDFs. Unlike a visual overlay, its secure export renders every page, applies approved redactions to pixels, and rebuilds a clean PDF without the original text layer, metadata, forms, annotations, or attachments.
How to sanitize a PDF
- 1.Choose a PDF or load the synthetic example.
- 2.Review automatic findings and mark false positives as Keep.
- 3.Add text or area redactions and choose Solid, Blur, or Pixelate.
- 4.Select Secure export & verify, review the checks, then download the sanitized PDF and optional report.
Privacy and limitations
Parsing, OCR, detection, rendering, export, and verification run in your browser; document content is not uploaded or persisted. Automatic detection and OCR can miss information, so review every page. The secure rasterized output removes selectable text, links, forms, and document accessibility structure.
