About This Tool

Markdown Previewer provides real-time rendering of Markdown syntax with GitHub Flavored Markdown support. Write Markdown on the left, see formatted output on the right—instant feedback for documentation, README files, blog posts, and technical content. Supports headers, lists, code blocks with syntax highlighting (JavaScript, Python, JSON, etc.), tables, task lists, links, images, blockquotes, and inline HTML. I use this for drafting GitHub README files before committing, previewing blog posts written in Markdown, creating documentation with code examples, and testing Markdown syntax for platforms like DEV.to or Hashnode. Export as HTML or copy formatted content to paste elsewhere.

Tips & Best Practices

**Markdown pro tips**: Use ``` code fences with language (```javascript) for syntax highlighting—massively improves readability. Double line break creates paragraphs, single line break is ignored (use two spaces + enter for line break within paragraph). For tables, align columns with | --- | (left), | :---: | (center), | ---: | (right). Task lists [x] work in GitHub Issues/PRs. Common mistakes: forgetting space after # for headers, using wrong quote characters (curly quotes '' vs straight ''), and not escaping special characters (* _ [ ] ( ) #) when you want literal text. Remember: Markdown flavors differ (GitHub, CommonMark, kramdown)—test on target platform. For complex docs, use MDX (Markdown + JSX) or VuePress for component embedding.
