What it does
CSV Chart Plotter turns a CSV file or pasted table into a bar, line, area, donut or scatter chart without a spreadsheet or chart code. It detects the delimiter, reads quoted fields and line breaks inside quotes, infers a type for every column and picks a sensible first chart: a line for dates, bars for categories. Parsing, rendering and export all run in your browser.
How columns are read
Each column is classified as Number, Date, Category, Mixed or Empty. Codes with leading zeros such as 00123 and identifiers longer than 15 digits stay as categories so they are never rounded or stripped. Dates are recognised in year-first formats (2025-03, 2025-03-31, 2025/03/31, ISO date-times); day-first and month-first dates are ambiguous and stay as text. Mixed columns can be plotted, and their non-numeric cells are skipped and counted.
Chart rules
Bar charts add up rows that share a label and group everything beyond the largest 39 categories into Other. Donuts use one label column and one positive value column, with the six largest slices shown and the rest combined. Scatter charts need numeric X and Y columns. Line, area and scatter charts draw at most 2,000 rows using even sampling, and the preview always says when data is sampled, grouped or skipped.
Export and limits
Download PNG renders the chart at 2× pixel density, and Download SVG saves a vector file with the same title, legend, axes and colors as the preview in the current theme. Inputs are limited to 5 MB. Charts use one value axis, up to six series and a color-vision-friendly palette; for pivot tables, formulas or dashboards, use a spreadsheet or BI tool.
