Bcrypt Hash Generator
Bcrypt hashes passwords with a random salt and an adjustable cost. Hash mode generates a new salt each time; Verify checks a password against an existing hash. Accepted versions are 2a, 2b and 2y with cost 4–16. Bcrypt uses only the first 72 UTF-8 bytes, even when more characters are entered.
How to use
Choose Hash, enter a password and a cost, then Generate. Regenerate creates a fresh salted hash. Choose Verify to enter a password and hash, then Verify password. The public example uses cost 4 for fast demonstrations. Cancel stops processing; Clear removes inputs and results and restores Hash mode and cost 12. Empty passwords are supported.
